DOORS OPEN 5:30pm, SHOWTIME 6:00pm – The La Crosse Film Academy and School District of La Crosse proudly present this premiere of the original short film, “The Brightest Star,” written by and created with the students of the School of Technology and Arts II Charter Middle School (SOTA II). Made possible by a Gold Star Grant from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation, and the generous fundraising and support of the SOTA II Board, this is the first student-driven film produced through the Story to Production Program – a collaborative program between the Film Academy and SOTA II that aims to teach middle school students valuable skills in creative writing, collaboration, and digital storytelling. All donations collected from the premiere screening of this film will benefit this program in the 2025-2026 academic year.
